Dedicated to the late Spalding Gray.

In 1997, Tom Judd curated a show at TZ Art in Soho called “The Chalkboard Chronicles.” The show included a rotating exhibit where each week three large chalkboards were erased and redone as three sets of four artists took their turn. The artists worked in public view in the window of the gallery. The entire event was video taped and is being produced as a documentary.

The twelve artists included: Spalding Gray, Christopher Brooks, Carol Diehl, Richard Hull, David Humphrey, Phillip Johnson, Drew Beattie and Daniel Davidson, Ilona Granet, Gary Komerin, Walter Martin and Paloma Muñoz, Elliott Puckette and Ray Smith.

The event was meticulously documented, with each artist being interviewed about their work on video before, during and after their event. It is this uncut footage for the documentary that will be on display for viewing to the public for the first time.

Images of the art that will be up for auction will be available soon.
